Kundalini Yoga - is the original form of yoga dated back 5,000 years ago, and the most spiritual and effective of all yoga practices, allowing you to heal mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually on a cellular level, by helping to facilitatie an internal alignment with your soul, to befriend your authentic self!  Kundalini Yoga is a science that works on the natural flow of our Human energy located in the eight Chakras- (the customary seven and the Aura), known as The Kundalini.  With this flow of energy, we either sway it or it will sway us. Either we are above the energy and ride (control) it or it will ride (control) us. It works like the principles of the Law of Attraction. It is basic Quantum Physics. Kundalini Yoga is practiced with the eyes closed, so that your other senses are more aware. It is an inner journey, an introspective, beautiful, and natural journey and unfolding of your human, creative potential to find and befriend your soul. Kundalini Pre Natal Yoga The Khalsa Way

 Pregnancy is one of the most special times in a woman's life. It is a time for nurturing, slowing down and learning to meditate, while being in the company of other mothers-to-be. These unique Prenatal Yoga Classes provide safe, simple and effective exercises designed to strengthen and relax your rapidly changing body, preparing you for a conscious childbirth. Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the cornerstone of our Prenatal Yoga classes, which go far beyond the physical realm of mere movement. Our prenatal program helps mothers-to-be discover a deeper sense of peace and harmony within, lifting blocks of fear, doubt and old conditioning out of pregnancy, birth, as well as life. Developing a meditative mind, she brings this to her birth experience, as well as to her family and home. Our goal... creating a more peaceful world through strong and conscious mothers. Come share with other women in community, as you strengthen your body, relax your mind, and to trust in your own power and strength. All women at any stage in their pregnancy are welcome.
                                      
Hatha Yoga Hatha Stretch- is the most widely practiced form of yoga in America. It is the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. There are nearly 200 hatha yoga postures, with hundreds of variations, which work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also stretch and align the body, promoting balance and flexibility.

One Hour Lunchtime Yoga Kundalini or Hatha Stretch-Created especially for YOU by popular demand! Come in, de-stress, chill out, and do some stretching to soothing music and re-energize on a cellular level. 

Restorative Yoga - This class is designed for deep relaxation. It involves gentle yoga stretches to open joints and stretch muscles, as well as restorative poses, breathing and guided imagery. Restorative poses use yoga props (blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets)in order to support the body, calm the nervous system and decrease tension. Kundalini Yoga and Hatha stretch are also considered restorative. All the classes at Yoga Rays are taught with restorative in mind. If you have a specific area to focus on, please email eva@yogarays.com for suggested classes and teachers. The class welcomes students of all levels. 


Vinyasa Flow- Vinyasa is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is sometimes also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance.


Classes are done in a constant flow between postures linking the movements with breath. The flowing movement combined with the breath energizes and rejuvenates, and at the same time calms and centers the mind. Classes are threaded with the tradition of Yoga but are also designed to the needs of our urban lifestyle because they bring the much needed inner space and health to the lives of the modern practitioner.

First Sunday Community Sadhana- 5:00-7:00 am-
of every month, Yoga Rays Teachers will host and facilitate a free group Sadhana for the community to up lift and caliber our collective and universal energies and help implement your own personal practice.
Sadhana - definition;
(Sanskrit, from the Root, sadh, `complete'). The spiritual practice of Hindu and Buddhist Tantrism; a path to liberation and power distinct from orthodox Vedic practice, which aims to unite the male-female polarity within the body, or to merge the individual self with the highest self ...Tantric yoga includes *mantra repetition and *Kundalini yoga...In general, to perform sadhana, initiation is needed from a *guru who will give the mantra and specify the appropriate practice in accordance with the disciple's personality, the lineage of his guru (in this case Yogi Bhajan), and his desired goal. Sadhana is practiced by both householders and renouncer's.
What to expect:
In Sadhana there is little instruction by the leading Teacher who unlike in class, will perform the exercises along with the students. Specific Mantras handed down for over 5,000 years are selected and chanted or sung along to.
Please bring a head covering to stabilize your Kundalini rising.

Breathwork -
Yoga engages the science of breath, pranayam, as a way of consciously lowering the frequency of breaths per minute to experience positive shifts in mental function. The mind follows the breath. The key to controlling the mind is in controlling the breath. By reducing the frequency of breath or engaging a rhythmic pattern in the breath we can clear emotional blockages in the body and change our brain waves from the normal waking conscious in Beta state to deeper Alpha and Theta states. Normally, we breathe at a rate of 16-18 cycles per minute. At 8 cycles per minute we experience relief from stress; at 4 cycles per minute we feel increased visual clarity, heightened body sensitivity and the pituitary and pineal begins to coordinate at a an enhanced level; at 1 cycle per minute (20 seconds to inhale, 20 seconds hold, 20 seconds to exhale) we optimize cooperation between brain hemispheres. Breath workshops set with an intention in mind such as experiencing self-love, releasing anger or grief, or generating creativity can very powerfully create change now!

The organs of the immune system manufacture white blood cells that provide the body's defense against chemicals, microorganisms, and cancer. The Chakras are energy points throughout the entire body, much like acupuncture or accupressure. Kundalini Yoga facilitates the opening of these blocked energy points naturally, with the help of your own body’s natural energy flow. We all have 8  Chakra’s, each corresponding to an area of the body. Our Kundalini Yoga classes touch on all chakras, but specific Chakra balancing classes and workshops are extremely powerful and effective, particularly if you have blockages in only a specific Chakra or area of your body.
Gong -
The gong impacts the body and its meridians.  It releases blocks, reduces tensions, and stimulates circulation.  It promotes an internal calm state, strengthens the nervous & immune system, balances the chakras, increases radiance, energy & vitality, enhances awareness & intuition and rejuvenates the entire system. It is not unheard of for people to experience weightlessness, or laugh uncontrollably or cry.  In 3 to 90 seconds of listening to the gong, a person will experience a shift in well-being.

Heart Opener -
Getting to the "Heart of the Matter", the fourth or Heart Chakra is the seat of love and compassion, for self and others. An open heart and balanced Heart Center bestows wisdom, nobility, success, fulfillment of desires, and a strong immune system. It is also where the Thymus Gland lives. If it is blocked, a person may "loose heart", be selfish, "break her(his) heart in painful relationships or great disappointment, or simply never realize or enjoy their dreams and desires. Opening the Heart center can be a profound experience of compassion and self-love. As we surrender the analytical head, allowing the heart to be the focus of decision making, we attain serenity and clarity, attract appropriate relationships and events, and attract opportunities and abundance.

The change in planetary vibrations is symbolized by the Heart Center, or Anahat Chakra, to which we will be raising our "normal" consciousness, through the sets and meditations we have selected. This class is dedicated with love and gratitude to my Beloved Teacher Yogi Bhajan. By spreading his teachings may we emulate and share his spirit of selfless service and grace!
Mental Clarity & Intention Setting -
Setting an intention is different from setting a goal. An intention is not oriented toward a future outcome. Instead, it is a path or practice that is focused on how you are "being" in the present moment. Your attention is on the ever-present "now" in the constantly changing flow of life. You set your intentions based on understanding what matters most to you and make a commitment to align your actions with your inner values.

As you gain insight through meditation, wise reflection, and your ability to act from your intentions flourish. It is called a practice because it is an ever-renewing process. You don't just set your intentions and then forget about them; you live them every day.

When you hear the words "abundance" and "prosperity", what comes to mind? Money, good job, fine home, finding a relationship, peace of mind, good health? It may be all or none of these things. It may mean something else to you. But if you want to attract more prosperity and abundance into your life, no matter how you define them, THIS series of classes are for YOU! It is better known as the "Law of Attraction". You attract whatever you give your attention to, whether wanted or unwanted. Just wanting something to change for you isn't enough, because you will continue to think about what you don't have. Getting Rid of Anger & Resentment  - The #1 reason for the stress in our lives. When we hold on to real or imagined negative energy, we suffer more than we really know! We are affected on the most basic cellular level. So, what are you waiting for…….? You know you want to get rid of that baggage!
